Black Pepper Meals & Wine Competition Rescheduled August 13 at FIU

MIAMI Black Pepper Meals & Wine Competition introduced by Larger Miami Conference and Guests Bureau’s Black Hospitality Initiative will showcase South Florida’s Black eating places on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 3 p.m. to eight p.m. on the grounds of the FIU Chaplin College of Hospitality & Tourism Administration, 3000 Northeast 151st Road North Miami Seaside, FL 33181.

The 2022 pageant will make its debut after postponement on June third because of South Florida’s Tropical Storm Warning. The pageant launched in 2019 with a hiatus in 2020 and 2021 because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Black Pepper Meals & Wine Competition presents the numerous delicacies flavors of the African Diaspora via small bites, wine tastings and reside cooking demonstrations, highlighting native, Black cooks and Black-owned eating places and meals vehicles for an all-day out of doors occasion. Part of the pageant’s listing of over 35 South Florida culinary choices, fashionable hotspots embrace, World Well-known Home of Mac (Overtown), Bar One (Miami Seaside), and  Smitty’s Wings (Fort Lauderdale). Newly opened eating places embrace Cork & Barrel Wine Bar and Tapas (Tamarac), South Florida’s 1st West African Meals Truck Fannoh Taste, and  Cleveland’s Previous Common Ice Cream. Many FIU alumni Black-owned eateries will take part similar to Candy Cheesecake Delights and Tropical Oasis Categorical.

Black-owned Wine and Spirit choices will likely be obtainable from McBride Sisters Wine Firm, Lobos 1707 Tequila, and D. Wade Cellars. Cocktail demonstrations will likely be supplied by mixologists of Crimson Rooster Overtown and Victory Restaurant and Lounge.

Enhance the Black Financial Ecosystem

The impetus of the Black Pepper Meals & Wine Competition is to spice up the Black financial ecosystem and supply attendees publicity to Black-owned eating places in South Florida they will proceed to patronize.
