George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic
George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic will kick off Blue Observe’s Miami programming on Friday, June 3. Recording each as Parliament and Funkadelic, George Clinton revolutionized R&B throughout the ’70s, twisting soul music into funk by including influences from a number of late-’60s acid heroes: Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and Sly Stone. The Parliament/Funkadelic machine dominated black music throughout the ’70s, capturing over 40 R&B hit singles (together with three quantity ones) and recording three platinum albums.
Robert Glasper
The sequence will shut on June tenth with a headline live performance by Robert Glasper. Glasper is the chief of a brand new paradigm in jazz.
